Kress, New York; gift 1963 to the National Gallery of Art [1] Possibly the drawing was owned by Monsieur de Montulle and was on sale in Paris, 22-30 December 1783 as cited in _François Boucher in North American collections: 100 drawings_, Exh. cat., National Gallery of Art, 1973. However, in the sale catalogue of that date the drawing could not be found.
