Molyneux [1891-1974], Paris, by 1947/1948;[2] sold 15 August 1955 to Ailsa Mellon Bruce [1901-1969], New York; gift 1970 to NGA.[3] [1] Exhibited at Bernheim-Jeune, Paris, in 1946. [2]Probably lent by Molyneux to an exhibition at the Orangerie in 1947; definitely lent to exhibition in New York in 1948. [3]Purchase from Molyneux according the Ailsa Mellon Bruce notebook now in NGA Gallery Archives (copy NGA curatorial records).
