Molyneux [1891-1974], Paris, by 1952;[3] sold 15 August 1955 to Ailsa Mellon Bruce [1901-1969]; bequest 1970 to NGA. [1] According to Guy-Patrice and Michel Dauberville, _Renoir: Catalogue raisonné des tableaux, pastels, dessins et aquarelles_, 5 vols., Paris, 2007, vol I, no. 128. [2] Exhibited at Charpentier in 1945, by which time it may already have been owned by Molyneux, who is listed as a lender without specifying individual objects. [3] Included in 1952 exhibition of Molyneux collection held at the National Gallery of Art.
