Silver Sun

Arthur Dove's "Silver Sun" (1929) is an oil on canvas with metallic paint and an unidentified material, possibly wax. Dove (1880–1946) was one of America's first abstract painters, creating works that derived their forms not from observed reality but from the inner sensations and rhythms of nature.
